New Orleans invites everyone to come together and be inspired. The food, music and authentic nature of New Orleans’ community translate into extraordinary experiences that all take place in a compact, walkable downtown area. Meeting and convention clients benefit from the longstanding relationships between New Orleans & Company, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the broader hospitality community. The warmth extended to visitors by our diverse community and the excellence of execution provided by our hospitality collective are what produce successful and memorable gatherings. This inherently collaborative approach to visitor service and solution delivery makes New Orleans a place built to welcome.
Premier meeting destination
Transformative investment in the city’s hospitality infrastructure includes state-of-the-art meeting facilities, new hotel projects to enhance the city’s nearly 26,000 existing rooms, museum expansions and a thousand culinary offerings, all within a walkable 2.5-mile downtown area. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is a 25-minute drive from downtown, making it easy to get in and out.
New Orleans’ rich culture makes for truly memorable attractions. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor experiences, such as visiting the National WWII Museum or exploring nature at the 1,200-acre New Orleans City Park, just 12 minutes from downtown. New Orleans also offers meaningful and active ways for visitors to make a positive impact on the environment and community. Opportunities to support coastal restoration abound, with native planting projects and oyster shell recycling efforts through the Louisiana Coastal Restoration Coalition.
Walkability, world-class hotels and venues, a history of innovation and a welcoming culture… these reasons and more make New Orleans the ideal meeting destination.
State-of-the-art meeting facilities
The impressive 3 million-square-foot, LEED-Gold-certified New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC) continues its ambitious $557 million improvement plan, which includes interior upgrades and a complete overhaul of its outdoor experience. Renovations are underway in lobbies, 140 meeting rooms and pre-function areas, and improvements are planned for entrances. A 1.9 million-square-foot energy-efficient roof is expected to be fully installed by mid-2024.
Convention Center and River District Neighborhood investors recently broke ground on the River District, a vibrant mixed-use development spanning 39 acres of prime riverfront land adjacent to the Center that will feature new restaurants, retail, entertainment options and 900 mixed-income housing units, 450 of which will be affordable and workforce housing with benefits for visitors and locals. The project has been hailed as a generational opportunity to activate undeveloped urban riverfront land as a transformative asset for the New Orleans region and the state of Louisiana.
