The first Canton Fair’s transaction volume was US$86.86 million, accounting for 20% of the country’s total cash income that year. Since 1965, the Canton Fair’s annual export transactions have accounted for more than 30% of the country’s total annual foreign trade exports. In 1972 and 1973, the proportion exceeded 50%.
