Vietnam’s cement industry market is favorable and business opportunities are unlimited
Vietnam’s cement industry ranks among the top five in the world, after China, India, Iran and the United States. At present, Vietnam’s cement industry has several weaknesses. First, cement production is low and production costs are high.Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization(EBITDA) is low, only 15-20%, lower than 25-30% in other countries in the region; second, fuel costs are high and alternative fuels are limited; third, compared with China and Thailand, Vietnam’s cement plants have a high depreciation rate; fourth, high financial leverage; fifth, lack of long-term export planning.
