Vietnam Expo, an industrial and energy equipment exhibition, is jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Export Support Center of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Bureau. The exhibition is divided into two major theme sections: industry and energy. It aims to promote exchanges and cooperation between Asian countries in the fields of industry and energy based in Asia, promote multilateral trade, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between enterprises, showcase technological innovation and development, launch new products, solve difficulties and pain points encountered in the development process, pay attention to global hot topics, and discuss how to save energy and reduce emissions, and coordinate the contradictions between production development and environmental protection. In the form of exhibitions, conferences, forums, activities and other forms of expression, it provides participants with a one-stop service platform with all-round and multi-perspectives.
According to Vietnam’s recent policies and related reports, the Vietnamese government has adopted a series of policies to accelerate development, attract investment, and the processing and manufacturing industry continues to lead, attracting nearly US$13 billion in foreign investment, accounting for 67.8% of the total registered capital, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year. A total of 100 countries and regions have invested in Vietnam. Among them, China’s investment in Vietnam is US$2.69 billion, ranking second, an increase of 90.8% year-on-year; involving healthcare, aerospace, digital economy, e-commerce, retail and other industries. At the same time, the Vietnamese government has recently announced a number of energy and mineral field plans. China’s new energy vehicles have also occupied a large part of the Vietnamese market, which is also a potential development industry.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, in the first nine months of 2023, China is Vietnam’s second largest export market, with an estimated turnover of US$42.2 billion, an increase of 2.1%. This is the only export market with an influential positive growth (up 2.1%) among Vietnam’s major export markets, while other major markets have declined. On the contrary, China remains an influential import market for Vietnam, with an estimated turnover of US$79 billion, a decrease of 13.6% over the same period last year. In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam-China trade volume officially exceeded the US$120 billion mark.
To sum up, Vietnam is indeed a good place to conduct trade. It is also a good channel for us to establish a platform to help Chinese companies expand into the Asian market. We welcome all colleagues in the industry to actively participate and seek common development.
