WASHINGTON — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that when the U.S. borders officially open to international visitors in November, it will accept proof of six different COVID-19 vaccinations to enter the country.
All six vaccines have been either authorized for emergency use during the pandemic, fully approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization, or both: Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech (which recently received full FDA approval), Oxford-AstraZeneca/Covishield, Sinopharm, and Sinovac.

International travelers coming to the United States for a trade show will be required to show proof of full vaccination before boarding flights to the United States. Proof of a negative Covid-19 test within three days of departure will also be required, and contact tracing and mask-wearing will also be mandatory; however, there will be no quarantine requirement.

The question that remains is exactly When In November, international travel will be allowed to resume. In September, the White House announced that the United States would lift travel restrictions for air travelers from 33 countries — including China, India, Brazil and most European countries — who are fully vaccinated. However, various White House officials, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and airline and tourism officials have all said they do not have a specific date yet and that a date will be announced closer to November.

US trade shows, including IMEX America, which will be held from November 9 to 11 in Las Vegas, have had to wait. “With the US announcing in early November, we obviously hope that this will be in time for the show,” said Carina Bauer, CEO of IMEX Group. Trade show manager. “We know that many buyers and exhibitors are waiting to confirm their participation if this is the case.”
