WASHINGTON, DC — Laurie Lutz will join the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) as Senior Vice President of Events, overseeing NBAA events, including its annual mega-spectacle Business Aviation Congress and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), which ranked No. 5 in net square feet on TSE Gold 100 latest listingLutz succeeds Chris Strong, who is retiring after more than 14 years in the NBAA.
Lutz has been with the NBAA since Consumer Technology Association (CTA)where she served as Vice President of THESE She has been Chief Operations Officer since 2012, a role in which she has led the strategic development of the event’s operations, infrastructure and customer experience. CES, the world’s largest technology event, attracted more than 115,000 attendees and expanded its net footprint for the successful 2023 edition in January.
An active member of the trade show industry, Lutz is a member of the advisory board of the 90th UFI World Congressa member of Women in Exhibitions Network in North America and the American Society of Association Executivesand a long-standing member of the committee of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).

Joining NBAA as Vice President of Membership Marketing in 2009, Strong, an integral member of the NBAA team, has developed numerous member services, acquisition and loyalty programs, and database management solutions. In 2022, Strong led a case study on implementing sustainability programs as sponsorship opportunities and, in May 2018, was featured on the cover of TSE’s monthly magazine.
In 2014, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Events and led the planning, implementation and promotion of NBAA-BACE, the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition and the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition. In this role, he also led the organization and development of the NBAA conferences.

Lutz will join the NBAA on May 1 and will work with Strong on the upcoming event schedule as she transitions into the role throughout 2023.
