“Today more than ever, we must recognize the talented women who are doing and will do “As I continue to grow our industry, I think of the many people who have helped and encouraged me, so it’s an honor to be able to thank them and recognize these dynamic young talents for their hard work and leadership skills,” said Gabrielle Weiss, vice president and editor-in-chief of Trade Show Executive. “I personally read the nominations and spoke with the people who nominated them. I was also inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of the leaders who nominated these talented women. I think that says a lot about our industry.”
They were selected based on a variety of criteria including demonstrable leadership qualities, creativity, integrity, business acumen, problem-solving, promoting excellence within team members and mentoring, and a high standard of excellence in salon management. The competition was open to non-executive salon management staff and was aimed at those who have worked in the sector for 2-10 years.
The program, which is sponsored by Housing Connections This year, the show and expo, led by owners Nancy Hallberg and Kris Sieradzki, had not been active since 2019 due to the pandemic. This year’s winners demonstrated excellence not only based on the original criteria, but also their resilience during the pandemic, which hit the show and expo hard and forced many to pivot to virtual and hybrid events. These winners were instrumental in helping their companies provide their customers with the best and safest show experience, and in helping their shows grow.
Women to watch will be in the spotlight at the TSE Gold 100 Price and Summit which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, California, September 21-23, 2022. They will also participate in a professional photoshoot and be featured in the December issue of TSE, which will be distributed at the IAEE Expo! Expo! They will also receive headshots to help them on their journey up the corporate ladder.
“We are so grateful for the many applications we received this year. The talent in this industry is abundant! TSE seeks to recognize talent as part of our mission as a B2B publication that works diligently to serve our community and industry. I encourage our readers to reach out to me with stories about their emerging talent, submit for TSE Trailblazersour blended recognition initiative, and of course for next year’s W2W program. We can’t do this without you,” Weiss said.
