ARLINGTON, VA — Trifecta Collective has acquired the North American Trailer Dealers Association, North America’s only trade association serving light- and medium-duty trailer dealers. NATDA is the trailer industry’s largest national trade show, membership organization, and leading trade publication.
The transaction was closed by the newly formed Trifecta Collective, a partnership between GreyLion, a leading private equity firm focused on investing in high-growth, lower-middle-market companies, and trade show industry professionals Rick McConnell and Jennifer Hoff. McConnell has extensive experience creating and leading industry events spanning multiple industries, having previously held leadership roles at Hanley Wood and Informa. Hoff has an equally impressive track record in trade show management, having held multiple roles at National Tradeshow Productions and most recently as founder of Taffy Event Strategies. NATDA was represented by Nick Curci, President and Founder of Corporate Solutions.
“It has been incredibly rewarding to help build NATDA over the past 15 years,” said Amy and Andy Ackerman, NATDA co-founders. “Trailer dealers needed access to the best products, services and training, which is why we started the NATDA Trailer Show. It has performed even better than our highest expectations and we are thrilled to be able to hand it over to Rick and Jen. Amy and I look forward to seeing everyone at the 2022 NATDA Trailer Show.”
Trifecta Collective has worked closely with the entire NATDA team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. All current team members, including Managing Director Andria Gibbon and Sales Director Karen Anderson, will remain in their current roles.
“NATDA is a special organization that is very in tune with the trailer industry,” said McConnell. “Our team will ensure we stay close to the market, exhibitors, sponsors and dealers to build on an already strong foundation. Amy and Andy have been great to work with during this transition. They have emphasized that listening to customers is the key to success. We will continue that tradition!”
Jennifer Hoff added, “Amy, Andy and the entire NATDA team have built a world-class organization and show. I feel fortunate to work with a group that is truly passionate about the community they serve and their commitment to excellence.”
“Our relationship with Rick goes back over 15 years,” said Ryan Anderson, Partner at GreyLion. “Both he and Jen are highly respected leaders and have been instrumental in building industry-leading trade shows throughout their careers. We are excited about our new partnership and expect NATDA to be the first in a series of trade shows we will acquire over the next several years.”
