Trade show manager wins international journalism awards

CHICAGO — Trade Show Manager is the winner of not one, but two Tabbie Awards, a competition created by the Trade Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) that recognizes excellence in trade, association and business publications worldwide.

The magazine won a Silver Award in the TABPI Top 25 category, the journal’s latest award, “COVID-19 Coverage.” TSE also won a Tabbie in the Feature Article: Top 25 category.

“Winning these remarkable accolades among the world’s top business publications is humbling. I am proud to EAST team and very grateful to our Editor-in-Chief, Andrea Doyle and the late Editor-in-Chief, Regina McGee,” EAST Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Weiss said, “Winning the coveted silver medal in the inaugural COVID-19 coverage category for our diversity story is very encouraging and timely as we launch EASTInclusion and Diversity Working Group.

The Silver Award went to the article “The Time is Now,” featuring Ron Walden, Reed Exhibitions USA’s first global executive sponsor for Race. Walden was featured in the magazine’s November 2020 Power Lunch section, along with a podcast.

Trade Show Manager Wins International Journalism Awards“It was such an honor to work with Ron Walden and share his story with TTrade show director. “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?” a question civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis asked himself his entire life is Ron’s guiding mantra. “It was especially poignant when I interviewed Ron and wrote the story — at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and amid the unrest over the death of George Floyd,” Doyle said.
