CHICAGO — Trade Show Manager announced the finalists of the Grand Prix, which will be awarded during the Gold 100 Awards and Summitwhich will take place from September 21 to 23 at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, California
The Grands Prix recognize the best of the best trade shows and are open to trade shows of all sizes, even those not large enough to be eligible for the TSE Gold 100. The majority of this year’s awards were also open to virtual events with virtual exhibits.
Many categories from previous years will return for this year’s awards, including Most Worthy Green Initiative Show, Most Innovative Show, and Best Trade Show of the Year. Several new categories have been introduced to highlight the challenges shows overcame in 2021 and the innovative ideas put into practice during the pandemic. New categories include the Return to “Normal” Award, Above & Beyond Award, Staying Connected Award, Show Must Go On! Award, Squeaky Clean Award, and DEI Leadership Award.
“The submissions we received this year were heartfelt and full of enthusiasm. It was very difficult to select these finalists with so many outstanding submissions. We congratulate all of the leaders on this year’s Gold 100,” said Gabrielle Weiss, vice president and editor-in-chief of Trade Show Executive. “The forward-thinking, innovative ideas, courage and tenacity of these leaders are remarkable. They overcame the adversity our industry faced during the pandemic and paved the way for all of us. The Grand Prix nominations have been reviewed by TSE editors and researchers, and the results are in.
APTA’s TRANSform Conference & Expo, HIMSS Global Health Conference & Expo, JCK, and World of Concrete are nominated for Best Trade Show of the Year, and CES, HIMSS Global Health Conference & Expo, and VMX: Veterinary Meeting Expo are nominated for Best Virtual Show. Return to Normal Award finalists include COTERIE New York, FDIC International, JCK, The Utility Expo, and World of Concrete.
Other shows that have the opportunity to win a coveted Grand Prize include: ASD Market Week, Channel Partners Conference & Expo, SHOPPE OBJECT, SOURCING at MAGIC Las Vegas, The International Surface Event, COUTURE, G2E – Global Gaming Expo, PROJECT Las Vegas, MAGIC Las Vegas, AWFS Fair, IMEX America, ISSA Show North America, MAGIC Pop-Up Orlando, AAPEX, New York Vet and LightFairAmong the finalists, 12 are in the running for more than one award.
