Russian Energy Exhibition-Exhibition Introduction
The Russian International Industrial and Energy Equipment Expo, RI Expo, is short for the Russian Energy Exhibition. It is held annually and is Russia’s professional industrial equipment exhibition and petrochemical exhibition. The last exhibition was held at the All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow, Russia, with an exhibition area of 25,000 square meters, 1,200 participating companies and 12,000 professional visitors.
The Russian International Industrial and Energy Equipment Fair (RI Expo) is jointly sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Exhibition Foundation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the BRICS Organization. Every year, the Russian Prime Minister, ministers, governors, senior managers of Russian and multinational companies, international industry experts and authorities, and major purchasing delegations organized by CIS member states will participate in the exhibition. The exhibition integrates exhibitions, technical exchanges, trade cooperation, and brand promotion, providing buyers with a comprehensive one-stop purchasing platform, creating excellent opportunities for Chinese innovative industrial enterprises to export to the Russian market.
According to official data from the General Administration of Customs of China, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia reached a record high of US$190.271 billion in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 29.3%. In the first half of 2023, the trade volume between China and Russia reached US$114.55 billion, a year-on-year increase of 50.9%. China has been an influential trading partner of Russia for 13 consecutive years. This year, the trade volume between China and Russia is expected to reach the target of US$200 billion, and may reach US$250 billion in the future.
Russia is one of the most influential energy exporters in the world, and China and Russia have great potential for cooperation in the fields of energy and industry. The advancement of cooperation on China-Russia natural gas pipelines and oil projects has brought new opportunities for the development of Russia’s energy industry. In recent years, the market share of Chinese products in oil and gas, machine tools, electricity, mining and coal machinery and equipment, industrial manufacturing equipment, chemical products, engineering machinery and vehicles, and new energy industries has continued to increase. Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, a large number of Western companies have withdrawn from the Russian market due to sanctions, which is undoubtedly an unprecedented new opportunity for Chinese companies. China-Russia cooperation can promote the upgrading and transformation of Russia’s energy sector and industrial manufacturing industry through technology introduction and equipment procurement.
