CHICAGO — To boost the trade fair and event industry between Thailand and South Korea, the QSNCC (Queen Sirikit National Convention Center) in Thailand and Coex (South Korea)Coex Congress and Exhibition Center) have signed a memorandum of understanding to officially partner with the aim of benefiting both sites.
The collaborative effort focuses on three areas: knowledge exchange in core services and technology, such as management and personnel exchange in the industry; provision of information on tenders; and conducting joint business development and marketing activities.
“From time to time, we will share detailed information about the meetings we have recently won, managed or hosted,” said Sutichai Bunditvorapoom, executive vice president of NCC Management and Development Co., Ltd., the operator of QSNCC. “This valuable information can quickly turn into potential customers for QSNCC and Coex. In addition, we are looking forward to holding more joint marketing activities at international trade fairs or other international platforms to deepen our partnership that will benefit both venues. We are committed to supporting and promoting our facilities and brand image in the local market.”
QSNCC, Thailand’s first national convention center and Bangkok’s largest (78,500 square meters of event space), and Coex, Seoul’s largest convention center (36,007 square meters of event space), are both located close to transportation, hotels, restaurants and shopping centers in their respective cities. Both facilities also focus on sustainability, aligning the missions of both venues.

““We are also participating in the same technology and digital transformation initiative. The design and equipment of QSNCC have been prepared for the coming decades of digital technology. Fiber optic cables are connected to every corner of the center while nearly a thousand access points have been installed to provide a strong internet connection to visitors. Coex is equipped with 10 gigabit internet and has set up a broadcast studio with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to deliver seamless virtual and hybrid events,” Bunditvorapoom said.
The agreement is expected to boost trade events in both countries, and both countries are committed to promoting each other’s facilities.
“Our next goal will be to focus more on promoting innovation and business opportunities such as collaboration on specific projects or partnership in organizing exhibitions,” Bunditvorapoom said.
