PROUD Experiences Kicks Off Pride Month

LOS ANGELES — To kick off Pride Month, PROUD Experiences, an LGBTQ+ lifestyle and luxury travel industry event hosted by RX, will take place June 3-5 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The show brings together travel advisors and travel industry suppliers for a combination of education and engagement, with the dual goals of offering expert insights into LGBTQ+ travel trends and creating connections between like-minded peers.

“PROUD Experiences is the stage on which travel companies can now market their products and services to agents and planners who actively sell to the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Simon Mayle, Events Director at PROUD Experiences.

According to the show’s website, 180 million LGBTQ+ travelers will be looking for their next destination this year; if the community were a country, it would be the fourth-largest economy on the planet.

And the 2024 edition of the show is set to be the largest ever, according to Mayle. “This week, we will welcome over 180 buyers from 14 countries, over 180 exhibitors from 12 countries, and 32 media and content creators from 7 countries — a truly international show. We are excited to kick off this year’s event in style with our keynote speakers: American basketball player, actress, model and influencer Crissa Jackson and acclaimed media personality, journalist, social influencer and entrepreneur Raymond Braun taking the stage to tell their stories.”

This year, the majority of exhibitors at PROUD Experiences come from the United States, Europe and Latin America. They include tourism boards, resorts, boutique hotels, cruise lines and cultural attractions. Qualified travel advisors with proven business experience participate in this buyer-driven show.

RX launched PROUD Experiences in 2018 in London, and it has been growing ever since. The 2019 edition, held in Brooklyn, sold out three months in advance, exceeding all expectations. Last year, organizers moved the event to Los Angeles, home to one of the largest LGBTQ+ communities in the world. Many attendees will stay for the city’s PRIDE weekend on June 8-9, with LA Pride in the Park taking place on June 8 at LA State Historic Park in downtown Los Angeles and the official LA Pride Parade taking place on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood on June 9.
