Three event organizations in the United States and across the Atlantic have recently made strategic trade show acquisitions and formed new partnerships to enhance their offerings and expand their presence in key trade segments. Take a look.
Trifecta Collective acquires TRANSACT
Trifecta Collectivea trade show platform owned and backed by GreyLion, a leading US private equity firm, has been acquired TO TREAT of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), a global payments industry advocacy and trade association.
As an annual event for the payment processing industry, TRANSACT 2024 was held from April 17-19 Mandalay Bay Convention Center The show welcomed more than 250 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees to Las Vegas. The 2025 edition will take place from April 2-4, 2025 at Mandalay Bay.
“The partnership with Trifecta and GreyLion paves the way for elevating TRANSACT to unprecedented levels of quality and value,” said Jodie Kelley, CEO of ETA. “We are excited to collaborate and continue to grow the show for many years to come as we seek to better serve the payments and fintech industry and further position TRANSACT as a market-leading event.”
Nick Curci of Corporate Solutions in Westport, Connecticut, was ETA’s exclusive advisor in arranging, structuring and negotiating this transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This acquisition marks the third Trifecta trade show transaction that Corporate Solutions has helped to complete in the past two years, building on Trifecta’s additions of the North American Trailer Dealer Association, NATDA Trailer Show and the International Mass Timber Conference to its growing event portfolio.

Formed by GreyLion and trade show industry veterans Rick McConnell and Jennifer Hoff, the latter Taffy Event StrategiesTrifecta Collective has been building its portfolio of trade shows and events since 2021.

RX buys sustainable energy conferences
Global Events and Exhibitions Company Reaction acquired Sustainable Energy Conferences Ltd (SEC), owner and organiser of World Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition (Rotterdam, Netherlands), Hydrogen Americas Summit and Expo (Washington DC), Asia Pacific Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition (Brisbane, Australia), and the Sustainable Energy Council brand.
Focused on the growing hydrogen sector, the events cover the entire value chain, including production, transmission, distribution and storage, as well as key end-user sectors, such as heavy industry and transportation.
The trio of events complements RX’s growing portfolio of over 400 events in over 22 countries and 43 sectors, including clean energy. These include the All-Energy shows in the UK and Australia, the World Future Energy Summit in the UAE and Smart Energy Week in Japan.
“This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to expand into the growing low-carbon technology sector,” said Hugh Jones, CEO of RX Global. “Hydrogen is expected to be a large, high-growth global sector that is critical to the future of decarbonising energy, industrial processes and transport. The SEC’s team of 21 permanent employees will join RX. Tim Clark, Founder of Sustainable Energy Conferences Ltd., expressed his excitement at joining RX.

Iventis enters into strategic partnership with MIH Major Events
Based in London, United Kingdom eventsprovider of collaborative event planning and venue solutions, has formed a strategic partnership with an event consultancy firm Main events of the MIH aimed at improving the event planning and delivery process and transforming the way major events are envisioned and executed.
Built on a shared commitment to serve diverse audiences including organising committees, host cities, commercial event operators and local authorities, and facilitate collaboration between them, the partnership will see both entities working together to support city and event ambitions throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless event bidding, planning and execution, according to Iventis officials.

Both organisations have proven track records in the major and mega-event sector, having worked on events including the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool and the UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. Most recently, the companies supported the host city and local organising committee in delivering the SportAccord 2024 Global Sport and Business Summit, where their collaboration was initially conceived.
