MOROCCO STITCH & TEX EXPO is the most comprehensive and professional textile industry exhibition in Morocco. The export products of the Moroccan textile industry are mainly woven garments, which are mostly processed from supplied materials. In 2020, Morocco exported US$1.93 billion worth of woven garments and clothing accessories to the world, accounting for 63% of its total annual textile and clothing exports, followed by knitted clothing products, with annual exports of US$620 million, or 20%. Most of the raw materials and semi-finished products used in the country’s textile industry depend on imports, such as yarns, surface accessories, etc. In 2020, Morocco imported US$3.16 billion worth of textiles and clothing from the world, mainly from China.

The Moroccan government regards attracting foreign investment as an important strategy for economic development, and the textile industry is one of its key industries to encourage foreign investment. According to the preferential investment encouragement and promotion policies formulated in Morocco’s “Investment Law”, the country will ensure land purchase and infrastructure construction for investment projects with an investment exceeding 100 million dirhams (about 72 million yuan) or creating 250 jobs. , personnel training and other aspects of subsidy and preferential policies; provide enterprises exporting goods and services with preferential treatment of being exempt from corporate income tax for five years and paying half of the corporate income tax after five years. In addition, Morocco implements a policy of free entry and exit of foreign exchange (including profits) under the framework of investments in full, and there is no proportional limit on foreign investment.
