1. Kazakhstan has an advantageous geographical location. Kazakhstan is located in the center of Eurasia and is the largest landlocked country in the world. Kazakhstan is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the west, Russia to the north, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan to the south, and China to the east. Its geographical location is very important. The total length of the railway is 14,312 kilometers, and there are four transit railway lines across Europe and Asia, including the Asian Continental Bridge, the Eurasian Continental Bridge, the Central Asian Railway and the Western Railway. The total length of highways is 88,992 kilometers, of which the total length of international highways is 12,400 kilometers, mainly transit highways passing through many countries in Europe and Asia, such as the Southwest Line, the Southern Line and the Third Line.

3. On February 22, 2011, China and Kazakhstan jointly signed the “Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Railways of the People’s Republic of China and the State Railway Corporation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Construction of the Astana-Almaty Expressway”. -Speed Railway”, with the assistance of China Build a high-speed railway between the capital Astana and Almaty. This railway is 1,050 kilometers long and has a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The train travel time between the two cities will be reduced to 4 hours. China will fully contract the “turnkey” project and it is expected to be completed in 2015.

4. In September 2013, during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Kazakhstan, he first proposed the initiative to jointly build the “Silk Road Economic Belt”, and Kazakhstan responded positively. The two sides reached important consensus on strengthening cooperation by synergizing China’s “Belt and Road” construction and Kazakhstan’s new economic policy of the “Bright Road”, and made a number of initial progress. In June 2018, President Xi Jinping met with visiting Kazakh President Nazarbayev. The two heads of state agreed to continue to enhance political mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, promote regional and global peace and sustainable development, and take the lead on the path of building a community with a shared future for mankind. This promotes multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and, through good policies, they can better form transport and logistics partners.
