LAS VEGAS — The Events Industry Council (EIC), the global voice of the business events industry in advocacy, research, industry recognition and standards, has opened applications for its Hosted Buyer Programme for IMEX America 2021 — an event expected to attract more than 3,500 exhibitors, including destinations, venues and suppliers from 155 countries. More than 180 educational sessions will focus on IMEX America’s themes: nature, event technology, wellness, live and experience, and CSR and sustainability.
“After more than a year away from IMEX, we are excited to open our Hosted Buyer program,” said Amy Calvert, Executive Director of the Events Industry Council. “This has been a challenging year for the entire industry and we are looking forward to attending the show, reconnecting with our colleagues and building new relationships.”

Approximately 300 EIC exhibitors will invite their major customers to attend IMEX America as invited buyers, but anyone who regularly hosts events for more than 10 people worldwide and outside their home state is eligible. If your application does not meet the qualification criteria, you will be invited to register as a participating buyer. You can register your interest in participating in the program here.
EIC-hosted buyers will benefit from personally curated EIC content and sessions, networking opportunities, and full admission to IMEX America. Successful applicants will also receive complimentary flights (within the U.S.), pre-, during-, and post-event accommodations and support, and perhaps best of all, access to a selection of exclusive sessions to earn Certified Meeting Profession (CMP) continuing education hours.
Health and Safety Protocols
Effective June 1, social distancing is no longer a requirement at Nevada booths, as exhibitors will have their own dedicated entrance with a clearly visible welcome desk. Traffic flow in and out of the show will be carefully managed, with wider aisles added where possible and additional seating areas provided throughout the exhibit hall to reduce crowding and improve flow.
Attendees will receive their printable badges in advance to avoid queues, and badge holders and/or lanyards will be available at the show entrances.
For food and beverage, the venue will adhere to all appropriate Covid health and safety standards and offer a wide range of individually wrapped food and digital ordering to minimise waiting times and queues.
