KBIS, the American International Kitchen and Bathroom Equipment Exhibition, is the world’s largest professional exhibition focusing on the kitchen and bathroom industry. It is hosted by the National Kitchen & Bath Association, which has 60,000 bathroom industry members. It mainly serves the kitchen and bathroom industry. Market analysis:
1. China’s trade is showing a growing trend. According to the latest statistics from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the bilateral import and export volume of goods between the United States and China from January to March 2017 was US$137.84 billion, an increase of 7.4%. Among them, the United States’ exports to China were US$29.50 billion, an increase of 17.0%, accounting for 7.9% of the total US exports, an increase of 0.7 percentage points; imports from China were US$108.34 billion, an increase of 5.0%, accounting for 19.7% of the total US imports. Among them, the building materials imported by the United States from China are broken down into: furniture in the customs code category; mobile homes, etc. from January to March 2017, which was US$14,721 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. Aluminum and its products in building materials (main aluminum alloy products such as doors and windows) reached US$721 million from January to March 2017, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%. 2. The employment situation in the United States is very good! Data released by the U.S. Department of Labor on June 2, 2017 showed that the U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 4.3% in May from 4.4% in April, reaching the lowest level since May 2001. Construction hiring has improved.
3. U.S. housing prices have returned to their peak, in order to promote the growth of the building materials market! The S&P/Case-Shiller National House Price Index in March, released on June 1, 2017, rose 5.2% month-on-month and 30% higher than in 2012. U.S. housing prices have returned to their peak in 2006. Residential construction has contributed to economic growth for eight consecutive quarters, and the expansion rate in the first quarter of this year was as high as 17%. The U.S. Department of Commerce reported that new home sales rose 17% month-on-month in April. In April, 778,000 new single-family homes were started, down from the previous average of 1.03 million units. Insufficient inventory will limit the development of the real estate market. The fastest growing home prices were on the West Coast, with Portland, Ore., recording a 12.3% increase, Seattle 10.8% and Denver 10%.
4. The sales method of home decoration and building materials products in the United States is mainly the retail model of dealers.
