Hong Kong Animation and Games Festival

The Hong Kong Comic Festival, formerly known as the Hong Kong Comics Festival, has been held every year in late July since 1999. Before that, comic book merchants only exhibited their works at the Hong Kong Book Fair. In the early days of the Comic Festival, the main exhibitors were comic book publishing houses. In recent years, with the Hong Kong Game Show being held alongside the conference, it has also attracted many computer game and online game makers to participate in the exhibition. Due to the maturity of the local comic book industry, comic book characters have gradually moved from books to the world of animated images. Therefore, the convention changed the name from “Comic Festival” to “Hong Kong Comic Festival and Game Show” from 2006. In 2008, it was officially merged with “Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong” (ACGHK, or “Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong”).

The Hong Kong Animation and Gaming Festival not only features everyone’s favorite games, animations, toys, models, gifts, collectibles, gaming equipment and a series of diversified products, but also features many exciting cosplay performances and other activities, making it the most attended exhibition in Hong Kong. As one of the largest and most successful exhibitions in Greater China, it has attracted the participation of major companies in the animation and gaming fields from Japan, South Korea, Europe and the United States.
