CHICAGO — David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, president and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), has been named president and CEO of Exhibitor Group, effective October 1, 2023. He will also serve on the executive leadership team of Star Group, Exhibitor Group’s parent company.
David DuBois, an industry veteran of over 45 years, has served IAEE for 11 years, providing strategic insight and helping guide the association forward in line with its vision and values. DuBois has played a critical role in leading IAEE through the pandemic, serving as a strong voice and advocate for the trade show and exhibition industry.
“I’m going to leave the organization in very good shape,” DuBois said. “We’ve come through the pandemic with minimal financial damage, and I’m leaving the best staff the organization has ever had.”
DuBois will leave the IAEE at the end of September, at the end of the IAEE’s fiscal year, and the association’s new CEO is expected to be chosen in early November.

Prior to joining the IAEE, DuBois served as president and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors BureauChief Operating Officer for International Professional Meetings (MPI), Executive Director of the MPI Foundation, and President, CEO and Senior Vice President of the Professional Association of Congress ManagementHe also served as volunteer chairman of the Convention Industry Council (now Events Industry Council) in 2015. He was inducted into the Event Industry Council Hall of Leaders in 2019 for his exceptional tenure as an industry leader.
