DALLAS – Dallas Market Center (DMC) has announced the launch of Nearshoring America, a new global expo scheduled for December 9-11, 2024. DMC said it will be the first North American event to connect brands, importers and sourcing professionals operating in the United States with vetted factories and supply chain suppliers from Mexico and Latin America, creating a forum for the nearshoring ecosystem.
Nearshoring America 2024 is expected to span approximately 50,000 net square feet and will expand each year as demand for nearshoring increases.
The need for a relocation event
Mexico’s investments in trade policy, logistics, and infrastructure through the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement have increased offshoring opportunities and driven demand for the event. The Nearshoring Leadership Council advocated for a juried nearshoring trade show and helped plan Nearshoring America.
“Today, supply chains in the Asia Pacific region and those that rely on the Red Sea and Panama Canal transits are being disrupted by plant shutdowns, capacity constraints, transportation costs, war, weather, tariffs and embargoes,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “The benefits of nearshoring include proximity to customers (4-7 days), regional trade agreements, competitive production costs and the risk mitigation benefits that come from mixed production at different locations.”
“The key role of this show in enhancing the experience of attendees and exhibitors is to simplify access to the benefits of proximity of product delivery and supply chain reliability. It fosters lasting relationships and offers practical and reliable solutions to current and emerging challenges.”

Participants in the relocation to America
The DMC team expects hundreds of home furnishings, gift and apparel accessories companies to participate in Nearshoring America 2024. They are selecting exhibitors based on their history, operational experience and delivery to “ensure a fit in terms of quality, reliability and ability to meet the diverse needs of buyers,” Morris said.
More than 100 exhibitors are expected to showcase their production or supply chain capabilities, display production samples, and be ready to meet with attendees immediately. DMC sends exhibitor profiles to attendees prior to the show to help them get started quickly.
DMC’s unique positioning for Nearshoring in America
According to Morris, DMC is particularly suited to this event because the venue exclusively serves the gift, home accessories and apparel sectors and understands the challenges of the market, enabling it to offer tailored solutions.
“Many participating brands and wholesale importers already have permanent showrooms within the Dallas Market Center and will be able to use these spaces for their design teams to meet one-on-one with factories… Exhibitors will have the ability to store their products and supplies in Dallas between annual events to avoid transportation costs,” she said, adding that this cannot be accomplished at a conventional expo center.
The show will also feature seminars and symposia on nearshoring in Mexico and Latin America, a Nearshoring America INDEX and a nearshoring newsletter.
“While individual results will vary, importers and production resources will explore and exchange ideas and opportunities. The connections made at this forum will result in multi-million dollar transactions and lasting relationships for nearshore production,” Morris said.
