PITTSBURGH – The David L. Lawrence Convention Center (DLCC) in Pittsburgh has announced a partnership with CNTV. This agreement follows the recent launch of The Confluence, an event studio, Convention News Television’s (CNTV) new mobile studio located at the downtown convention center. The Confluence allows event organizers to live stream, pre-record presentations and host hybrid events. The mobile studio features state-of-the-art technology, a professional setting and space to host webinars, panel discussions, trainings, keynotes and summits.
“DLCC continues to look for unique ways to better meet the needs of our clients in a COVID-19 environment, and as demand for hybrid meetings increases, we are excited to connect them with CNTV, the experts who are masterfully delivering events to TV and mobile screens,” said DLCC CEO Tim Muldoon.
But wait a minute. With mass vaccinations underway around the world, aren’t we all moving back to face-to-face events, leaving hybrid meetings in the dust?
Not necessarily. Trade show organizers should consider hybrid as an important complement to existing and future programs, said Carrie Ferenac, co-founder and president of CNTV, an event support team specializing in hybrid event design, strategy and production. “Digital experiences will never replace face-to-face interaction.”

Ferenac reminds us that COVID-19 has taught us that innovation comes from necessity. “Our industry came to a complete standstill and responded with ingenuity and courage, and while we know virtual events are not a solution, nor a substitute, we did what we had to do,” she said. “This year has been devastating and has proven the economic impact of exhibitions and events, and I believe the industry will be back and better than ever.”
The DLCC joins many other convention centers across the country that are transforming areas into the digital realm by creating virtual studios with state-of-the-art equipment for digital and in-person presentations.
“CNTV can help our clients envision what they need for a best-in-class hybrid meeting, and they are equipped to help our clients make the most of The Confluence’s features, as well as our facility space. They are a natural extension of the planning teams,” Muldoon said.
