CHICAGO — CONEXPO-CON/AGG is preparing for the largest edition of the construction fair in history, which will be held from March 14 to 18 at Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
Produced by the Equipment Manufacturers Association (AEM) and held every three years, CONEXPO-CON/AGG had sold out all available exhibition space by December 2022 and is approximately 5% larger than the record set in 2020.
The 2023 edition of the show will host more than 2,000 exhibitors in nearly 3 million square feet of exhibit space, which includes spaces in the LVCC’s West Hall and Diamond Lot to accommodate more exhibitors. For CONEXPO-CON/AGG veterans, that’s where the Gold Lot used to be. The Diamond Lot will host 126 exhibitors, and the West Hall, which features many large exhibits, will host 160 exhibitors this year.
Attendance is also up, with registrations nearly doubling from 2020. The 2023 edition is expected to attract 130,000 construction professionals to the LVCC. Attendees will be able to use the Las Vegas Passenger Loop, an all-electric underground transportation system that connects the South Hall, North Hall and Diamond Lot to nearby resorts, allowing people to quickly move from one location to the next.
“Exhibiting companies know their customers are there and they don’t want to miss the opportunity to connect with them and showcase their innovations and products,” said Dana Wuesthoff, AEM vice president of exhibit and event services and CONEXPO-CON/AGG show director. “Construction professionals from around the world come to CONEXPO-CON/AGG to network with other professionals, learn from our educational sessions and touch and feel next-level equipment and products. That’s truly the value of in-person events. We also hear from contractors that one of the biggest values of the show is the unexpected things they discover while walking the show floor. That’s when they find solutions to challenges and discover products they didn’t know existed.”

New to CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the Community Zone, a space dedicated to networking, dining and attending various events throughout the show. Dave Turin of Discovery’s “Goldrush” and “Dave Turin’s Lost Mine” and Aaron Witt, Founder of BuildWitt, will open the Community Zone with an informative talk followed by a Q&A session.
“The community area is the type of space attendees have been asking for,” Wuesthoff said. “It’s a place where construction professionals can charge their devices and recharge, while continuing to learn and enjoy their experience at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.”
Another exciting part of this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the guide to recommended places to visit while attendees are in Las Vegas, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority helped compile this list. This list is great for those who want to see and experience things outside of the LVCC and gives attendees the opportunity to discover a new part of the city.
To highlight sustainability, the show is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 130,000 trees in forests that need them most. Each tree represents a CONEXPO-CON/AGG registrant, making the high rate of registrations even more effective. In addition to this partnership, exhibitors will showcase their sustainable products, technologies and innovations that represent the construction industry’s efforts to support a more sustainable world.
