LAS VEGAS — CONEXPO-CON/AGG And International Exhibition on Water Power (IFPE)organized by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), exceeded expected attendance figures and broke size records for a construction industry trade show. The show took place March 14-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The number of registered attendees increased by 6% compared to 2020, with more than 139,000 construction and water professionals from 133 countries attending LVCC for the five-day trade show, which included product launches, major company announcements, educational sessions and networking opportunities.
“CONEXPO-CON/AGG’s primary marketing tactic, especially given the 3-year show cycle, is to never stop,” said Dana Wuesthoff, CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show Director, AEM. “Helping exhibitors and attendees understand the central nature of CONEXPO-CON/AGG to the entire construction industry, both in North America and around the world, means we never sit still. Our goal is to maintain the engagement we’ve built with our community on an ongoing basis, while finding the right mix to continue to grow our audience at each show.”
With more than 2,400 exhibitors from 36 countries and 603 newcomers, the 2023 edition of CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE spanned more than 3 million square feet and was the largest in its history. The show, held every three years, was 10.5% larger than the 2020 edition in terms of net exhibit square feet.

“CONEXPO-CON/AGG has been ramping up our digital efforts with each show cycle. While we’re not abandoning past methods that have proven successful, each cycle we try something new. This year, we experimented with targeted ads on Hulu, for example,” Wuesthoff said.
Sustainability was at the heart of this year’s show. CONEXPO-CON/AGG partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree for every registered attendee and held training sessions on sustainable building practices. Through this partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, more than 139,000 trees will be planted in a forest that needs them most. Sustainable products, practices and technologies were showcased throughout the show.
“The feedback on CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023 has been extremely positive so far, from both exhibitors and attendees,” said Wuesthoff. “Some of the things we’re particularly proud of include the brand-new community area launched on the show floor this year, and the transportation improvements around the show floor. Both of these ideas came out of needs identified at the 2020 show, and we’re already looking at feedback, both formal and informal, for the 2026 show.”
“AEM also has two other shows that appeal to a similar audience: The Utility Expo and World of Asphalt. We take what we learned at CONEXPO-CON/AGG into both of those shows, and we use those shows to test new ideas and learn new things for CONEXPO-CON/AGG.”
CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE will be held from March 3 to 7, 2026 at LVCC.
