LONDON — Bowthe global events, data and media platform, has entered into an agreement to acquire a portfolio of events and associated media assets for the HR technology and education technology sectors from LRP Media Group.
“The most important element of this deal is of course these incredible brands,” said Simon Foster, CEO of Arc. “We believe the teams and brands have great potential for further growth and we look forward to working with them to realise this potential, both in the US and internationally. This transaction also gives the Arc network a platform in the US. We will continue to build on this platform, which will provide us with opportunities for our brands in Europe and for new launches and growth across the network in the region.”
The acquisition, which is expected to close by the end of October, will be the sixth and largest acquisition in the 14 months since Arc was founded. Complementing Arc’s European operations, the acquisition will expand Arc’s U.S. network with these assets. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
At the end of August, Arc acquired HighQuest, a Massachusetts-based group that produces events and materials for the agri-food and agri-investment sectors. This second US-based acquisition will nearly double the size of the group and balance its turnover between Europe and the US
“They are a great fit for us because their approach reflects what we believe is so important in bringing people and communities together,” Foster said. “These portfolios have truly embraced community engagement anytime, anywhere and in the way that is at the heart of our proposition as Arc. These are not just big blockbuster events, but true omnichannel businesses at the heart of their communities.”
Arc’s strategy to connect business communities based on their needs is reflected in its soon-to-be-acquired portfolio, which offers a range of diverse engagement solutions for networking and growth. Professionals are brought together through content platforms and events, such as HR Technology Conference and Exhibition, Conference on the Future of Educational Technologies, Human Resources Manager, District Administration And University of Business.
“Our role is to support teams and their vision for brands,” Foster said. “We hope attendees and exhibitors feel that all products, including events, are constantly improving and innovating. We hope customers get more value from the various meaningful interactions we create for them throughout the year. We want to be able to give each team the resources, the focus, the tools, the access to knowledge, everything they need to excel.”
