ORLANDO — Maritz, an experience design company, recently partnered with CLEAR, an identity platform, to launch an identity verification system that has the potential to revolutionize on-site trade show registration.
CLEAR’s identity verification solution was tested at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s (AMCP) annual Nexus Show, held October 16-19, 2023 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, where 2,708 attendees gathered.
AMCP is a professional association that helps patients get the medicines they need at an affordable price. AMCP members are diverse and include pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and professionals from life sciences and biopharmaceutical companies.
Ahead of the event, Maritz integrated onsite check-in with the CLEAR identity solution. Unlike CLEAR Plus, the airport’s subscription, new and existing users could check in for free. Aaron Dorsey, vice president of product management, information security and privacy, is leading the project at Maritz. At the event, guests could self-check in at a designated remote space. This option required them to verify their identity with CLEAR, which was available one hour before the main check-in area opened. Existing CLEAR users verified themselves in seconds with a quick selfie, while new users registered for free with a few simple steps.

AMCP achieved its goal of providing a hassle-free on-site check-in experience that reduced wait times without sacrificing security. It allowed customers to print their badges at a satellite location wherever and whenever it was most convenient for them.
“With 17% of attendees choosing to verify with CLEAR, registration lines were minimal, allowing for a seamless on-site check-in experience. Our attendees commented on how quick and easy the process was, especially since many were already familiar with CLEAR. This was a great way for AMCP to demonstrate that we are continually evolving to meet our attendees where they are and ensure they stay focused on networking and learning rather than on-site logistics. We look forward to rolling out CLEAR’s ID verification solution more broadly at our upcoming AMCP 2024 in New Orleans,” said Beth O’Brien, AMCP Senior Director of Meetings and Conventions.
