CHICAGO — Informa Markets Engineering announced the launch of Sustainable Manufacturing Expo, an event dedicated to innovations and technologies that contribute to carbon reduction, energy conservation and operational efficiency and productivity.
The Sustainable Manufacturing Expo will be dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations, technologies and thinking to advance the sustainable manufacturing process. More than 150 exhibitors are expected to attend, showcasing their solutions including biomaterials, automation, cloud computing technology and lifecycle packaging, among others.
“As a one-of-a-kind event in North America, the value it provides comes from being a platform where manufacturers can find the information, expertise and solutions needed to meet both short-term environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance requirements and long-term guidance on the steps needed to reap the benefits of integrating sustainability throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle,” said Melissa Magestro, vice president of Informa Markets Engineering and founder of Sustainable Manufacturing Expo.
The new show will also feature a conference program with educational sessions and content featuring leading industry authorities and experts covering a wide variety of topics such as product demonstrations, regulatory reports and implementation case studies.

“Working with our advisory board, the event will focus on the critical information manufacturers need to achieve their sustainability goals, while reducing waste and increasing efficiency that ultimately benefits the bottom line,” Magestro said. “Omdia Group, part of Informa Tech, recently released “The State of Industrial Sustainability – 2024,” a research report that outlines the current market landscape and has helped inform decisions that will be made about our show.”
The launch of the show comes as the manufacturing industry steps up its sustainability efforts and more than 6,500 companies in the sector have aligned with Science Based Targets initiatives for emissions reporting.
“As we looked at the landscape across the EU and based on conversations at several of our events, including IME West, we recognized that North American manufacturers needed more guidance in terms of developing and implementing sustainability processes within their own facilities,” Magestro said. “The launch comes at an ideal time, as companies need to start conducting these assessments now in response to increasing efforts by global regulators to integrate ESG compliance into business models, as well as consumers prioritizing sustainability in their purchasing decisions and brand sentiment.”
The inaugural Sustainable Manufacturing Expo will take place February 4-5, 2025 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
