LAS VEGAS — InfoComm 2024, held June 8-14 in Las Vegas, got off to a perfect start for its AV industry attendees, with An Evening at Sphere on June 11, the day before the show opened. The opening reception for 2,600 attendees was followed by The Sphere Experience, featuring Oscar-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s Postcard From Earth, a sci-fi journey into the future that begins as a standard movie and evolves into an immersive Sphere experience. Show organizers created sponsorship opportunities for exhibitors throughout the evening, including the chance to reserve a VIP suite.
The experience proved to be a perfect fit for the show, as Sphere has been a game changer in the AV industry. “Sphere is the perfect venue for AV professionals, and we’ve been waiting a long time for this,” said Rochelle Richardson, CEM, senior vice president of exhibit and event services at AVIXA (the Association of AV and Integrated Experiences), the show’s organizer, in a video interview, adding that they’ve been planning the evening event for nearly a year.
This was just the beginning of InfoComm 2024, which brought together 36,967 members of the AV community from 125 countries in Las Vegas. International attendance accounted for 23% of the total. Of the non-exhibiting attendees, 71% were from the professional AV industry and 29% were end users. In the West and Central Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center, 833 exhibitors showcased pro-AV products and solutions across 407,000 square feet of exhibit space.
“Sphere is the ultimate experience venue, pushing the boundaries of audio and video to deliver an unforgettable spectacle to audiences. It was the perfect way to welcome our community of AV professionals from around the world to kick off InfoComm 2024. It was a unique opportunity to share this exciting experience with our industry,” said David Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, CEO of AVIXA.

AI was a hot topic this year: the training program featured speaker Joe Pham, President and CEO of QSC | Q-SYS, who spoke about the opportunity AI brings to the professional AV industry, and AVIXA showcased AVA AI, built by AVIXA’s IT department, to help attendees navigate the show floor, training sessions, events, transportation and more.
A variety of off-site tours took attendees to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ new Engineering Building and the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, as well as HyperX Arena, the Illuminarium and AREA15.
“There are so many elements that go into putting on a show the magnitude of InfoComm: presenters, educational partners, exhibiting companies, sponsors and venues. The collaboration of thousands of people makes this show possible,” Richardson said.
InfoComm 2024 is sponsored by show strategic partner Crestron and show supporting partner Shure Incorporated. InfoComm 2025 will take place June 7-13 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
