Exhibition introduction:
The 2025 Thailand International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Exhibition is a key ASEAN energy exhibition led by the official approval of the Ministry of Energy of Thailand and co-organized by Singapore Firewoks Exhibition Group. The exhibition will be held on November 12, concurrently with the Thailand Electric Power Exhibition.
The Thailand Solar Energy Exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Energy of Thailand, the Ministry of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency of Thailand, the Thailand Electricity Authority of Thailand, the Ministry of Industry and other government departments. The Chairman of the Thailand Energy Commission leads ministers at all levels to visit the exhibition as special guests of each exhibition. The 2025 Thailand International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Exhibition has become a leading event in Asia’s power and new energy industry. The last exhibition attracted more than 1,000 companies from ASEAN countries, European and American countries, and tens of thousands of exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions around the world. Professional buyers came to visit and purchase. With the change of the new Thai government in 2023, it will take the lead in mutual visa exemption with China, develop the national economy, accelerate investment in photovoltaic, power and other infrastructure, improve national living standards, and have stable and clear policies. It is an excellent opportunity for companies to enter Thailand.
At the same time as the exhibition, the 2025 Asia Thailand Power Energy Exhibition will be held to showcase the latest technologies and products in the industry.
Market introduction
1. According to statistics from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, there are 57 power plants across the country with a total installed capacity of approximately 17 GW, of which hydropower and thermal power generation account for 70%, new energy power generation accounts for 15%, and other power generation accounts for 15%. According to the “Thailand Power Development Plan 2018-2037 (PDP2018)”, Thailand’s installed power capacity will reach 77.211 GW by 2037, of which 20.766 GW will come from renewable energy generation; by 2037, the installed photovoltaic capacity will be approximately 15 GW, with renewable energy About 50% of energy power generation will come from photovoltaic power generation, achieving more than 30% of renewable energy power generation.
2. Thailand is not only one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, but also one of the largest energy consumers in Southeast Asia. However, it has insufficient natural gas reserves, poor coal quality, and relies on imports for about 13% of its electricity needs. Therefore, the Thai government hopes to respond to potential power demand through the development of new energy sources. At the same time, the Thai government intends to move away from dependence on crude oil, especially in the transportation sector and the Exchange Energy Development Authority, which has promoted the use of alternative fuels to account for a 19% share of total installed renewable energy capacity (1.813 MW) by 2030. Will double again.
3. The formulation of a series of policies and plans such as the “Alternative Energy Development Plan” and the “Energy Efficiency Development Plan” have provided a good market environment and investment opportunities for Thailand’s new energy storage technology projects. In the next four years, Thailand is expected to become the largest photovoltaic market in the EAPCA area. Due to its rapidly growing power demand and intention to move away from crude oil imports. In the next four years, Thailand is expected to become the largest photovoltaic energy market in emerging Asia-Pacific and Central Asia, and is strongly encouraged and supported by the government.
4. Thailand’s largest power company, PEA, will invest US$13 billion in the next 15 years to build a nationwide smart grid system and install more than 15 million smart meters;
5. EGAT, the Electricity Authority of Thailand, will invest US$10 billion in the next five years to complete a transmission line that will last 40 years. According to the latest statistics from the Electricity Bureau, there are currently 15 national-level projects under construction, with a total value of US$183.3 billion.
