Which countries are visa-free and visa-free on arrival for China? In fact, in 2021, more than 70 countries or regions are implementing visa waiver and visa on arrival policies for China. The Chinese Consular Service Network updated the “List of Convenient Entry Processing for Chinese Citizens Holding Ordinary Passport in Relevant Countries and Regions” on January 1, 2021. Let’s take a look:
1. Countries exempt from visa for ordinary passports (15 countries)
United Arab Emirates, Barbados, Bahamas, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador, Fiji, Grenada, Mauritius, Republic of San Marino, Seychelles, Serbia, Tonga, Belarus, Qatar, Armenia
2. List of countries or regions that unilaterally allow Chinese citizens to enter without a visa (18)
Asia (4): Indonesia, Uzbekistan, South Korea (Jeju Island and other places), Oman
Europe (1): Albania (Editor’s note: Ukraine recently announced that it will implement a visa-free policy for Chinese tourists from April 1 to September 30, 2021. Visa-free objects are Chinese who enter and transit through the Ukrainian territory for tourist purposes.
Africa (3): Morocco, French Reunion, Tunisia
Americas (7): Antigua and Barbuda, Haiti, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (British Overseas Territory), Saint Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos Islands (British Overseas Territory) sea), Jamaica, Dominica
Oceania (3): American Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan, etc.), Samoa, French Polynesia
3. List of countries and regions that unilaterally allow Chinese citizens to apply for a visa upon arrival (40)
Asia (19): Azerbaijan, Bahrain, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Lebanon, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Brunei, Iran, Jordan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Malaysia (Note: Indonesian visa requirements Free and visa on arrival policies are implemented at the same time. Americas (2): Guyana, Saint Helena (British Overseas Territory)
Oceania (4): Palau, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea
It should be noted that some of the 40 countries that require visa on arrival for regular Chinese passports actually require certain conditions to be met. It is difficult for most people to meet the requirements. So even though there are 40 countries with visa on arrival, fewer than 40 of them can actually travel with visa on arrival. This document fully lists the entry requirements for the visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries above. The actual trip must be subject to the conditions indicated on the official website.
