NEW YORK — MAD Event Management, a full-service event planning and management company based in New York, has announced its partnership with Messe Düsseldorf North America (MDNA) to launch new events in Detroit.
The concept grew out of a development plan between MAD and Claude Molinari, president and CEO of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Detroit), said MAD founder and president Martha Donato.
“The partnership had been in the works for several years, initially with the TCF Center when Claude was the executive director,” Donato says. “We were actually about to announce our first event when COVID hit. When Claude took the job at Visit Detroit, we just continued the discussions that were already well underway at that point.”
“Detroit wants to focus its resources on launching B2B and B2C events. The city’s event infrastructure, including its world-class convention center, CVB, international airport, hotels and special event venues, provides MAD and MDNA with an exceptional opportunity to market programs that we know will resonate and thrive here.”

Donato said the partners’ goals “are mutually aligned in that we are passionate about live events and bringing communities together, while Visit Detroit’s mission is to attract people to the city for business and pleasure. We will incubate and launch several large-scale conferences and events together to do just that.”
