LAS VEGAS – THE Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) The board of directors this week approved a plan for the renovation of phase 3 of the Las Vegas Convention Center (CCVL). The project will modernize the North, Central and South Halls to complement the $1 billion West Hall, which opened last year. The renovation will be carried out on a strategic schedule that will allow Las Vegas to host all of the major conventions and trade shows on the current calendar during the construction period.
The first phase of the LVCC renovation involved acquiring and demolishing the Riviera Hotel and Casino, while the second phase involved constructing the West Hall. The Phase 3 project is expected to be completed over a two-year period, including six periods during which no construction will take place during major conventions.

“This is an important first step that will further enhance the services and experience for our exhibitors and attendees,” said Brian Yost, LVCC Chief Operating Officer.
The planned $600 million renovation will extend the contemporary design and architecture of West Hall to the North and Central concourses. A new outdoor plaza and concourse will be added to South Hall, adjacent to the Convention Center Loop passenger station.
The renovation will also add a large open-air main lobby to the central hall and expand the north hall lobby to accommodate additional pre-function spaces and meeting rooms. A climate-controlled indoor lobby between the north and south halls will allow attendees to move between the two halls without leaving the building.
The striking exterior roof of West Hall will continue to extend over the North, Central and South Halls, creating architectural cohesion across the campus.
