CHICAGO – Trade Show Manager (THIS) won the triple crown in the prestigious Tabbie Awards 2022, an international journalism competition created by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) that recognizes excellence in trade, association and professional publications worldwide. Open to publications from over 40 countries, EAST competed against leading global publications from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA
“Seeing TSE leader Gabi Weiss’ inspiring ideas translated into the magazine’s articles and design each month is remarkable. And now, to see the talent of our TSE team recognized internationally is a tremendous honor,” said Rick Simon, TSE Chairman of the Board and President and CEO of United Service Companies. “The TSE team’s hard work and dedication to covering the industry is exceptional, and I congratulate them on this hard-earned recognition.”
This year, Trade Fair Manager has won not one, not two, but three international Tabbie Awards.
“It’s an honor to be recognized internationally and we were competing against the best B2B magazines. I’m truly humbled. Winning for the content on the pivotal moment of Informa World of Concrete and its impact on our industry, the top honor for our DE&I article and our article focused on sustainability practices with COVID is significant,” said Gabrielle Weiss, TSE Vice President and Editor-in-Chief. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and talent of the TSE team. And I’m also grateful for the highly engaged readers and experts we tap into for our articles. We wouldn’t be able to publish such rich, award-winning content without their voices.”
World number one
TSE was recognized as the world’s best in the “How To” category for its coverage of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). DE&I continues to be a hot and important topic in the industry, and TSE was able to stay on top of it and stay there, winning gold for its article “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: More Important Than Ever,” which outlined eight ways to build an inclusive team.https://online.fliphtml5.com/brun/asta/#p=15)
According to Tabbies judges, “The tips included here could be incorporated into industries outside of trade shows, making them even more useful to readers!”
World Top 25
In the Top 25 Feature Articles of 2022 category, TSE took top honors for “The Trade Show Industry’s Return Is Set in Stone; Concrete World Paves the Way for More Trade Shows,” a cover story in the July 2021 issue.https://online.fliphtml5.com/brun/mtvg/#p=20)
“Gabi and I traveled to Las Vegas to experience World of Concrete (WOC) live, as the entire industry was anxiously awaiting the ever-looming threat of COVID. We were all eager to see the show’s success,” said Andrea Doyle, the TSE editor who wrote the article. “The atmosphere was pure magic; everyone from hoteliers to suppliers to attendees was excited to meet face-to-face again.”
The pandemic widely covered
TSE has covered the COVID crisis from the beginning, providing in-depth reporting on the many changes that have occurred in the trade show and events industry due to the pandemic. Their article, “COVID-19 Makes An Impact On The Environment,” was also an award-winning one, with its prescient focus on sustainability in the trade show industry in 2020, well before COVID-19 hit.https://online.fliphtml5.com/brun/kvam/#p=16)
“It’s no surprise that the winning TSE articles focused on the trade show industry’s rebound, COVID and sustainability, and diversity, equity and inclusion. These are such important issues facing the world and our industry. Observing and reporting on how these and other issues are shaping the future as we not only rebound, but evolve, is inspiring,” Weiss said.
