Business Meeting And Event Professionals Gathered And Applauding

The Great Reset at the heart of Global Meetings Industry Day 2022

If there’s ever been a Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) that’s worth attending, it’s this one. On April 7, 2022, the events and meetings industry will come together for a long-awaited industry reset. Thought leaders will share their wisdom and insights on the impact of the exhibition and meetings industry on the global economy and the long road ahead.

GMID, an annual event, was originally created to bring together individuals and industry thought leaders from across this global industry to showcase the true importance of all facets of a vast and ever-evolving profession that includes trade shows and exhibitions, business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel and the many related ancillary activities, from audiovisual to Zoom meetings.

“GMID is an opportunity for the industry to come together and demonstrate the significant economic and social impact of the work we do. It’s especially important this year, after a long and difficult pause in gatherings, to showcase our resilience, creativity and support for one another as we rebuild and relaunch our events,” said Claire Smith, CMP, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre, adding that this year’s GMID event is a collaboration of five industry associations, coming together at the VCC to learn, share and celebrate.

Depending on your location, there are also many in-person and live events available. While live events for Global Meetings Industry Day 2022 are planned around the world, you don’t need to attend in person to get involved and take part in this important day of support and advocacy for the meetings and events industry.

This year, MPI is offering a virtual experience for those who have yet to experience in-person events. The free, live digital broadcast of Global Meetings Industry Day 2022 will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST, providing education and activities to a global audience as the meetings industry comes together to honor, commemorate and champion an industry that directly impacts the daily lives of individuals, local businesses and communities each year.

And no excuses: This exclusive broadcast is free, but MPI asks attendees to consider donating $10 USD to help support the ongoing good works of the MPI Foundation. Get your ticket here.

PCMA offers a number of live GMID educational events in its chapters and regions, from the West Coast in Vancouver, BC, to the East Coast in Boston, and many points in between and around the world.
