LAS VEGAS—A new pop-up rideshare app is looking to disrupt trade show transportation by charging sponsors, not passengers, for a ride.
No more long waits and price hikes that come with Uber and Lyft. Pop-Up Rideshare is the first transportation solution of its kind to operate as a pop-up service in conjunction with large-scale events. Best of all, it’s free for users.
Companies looking to take a fresh approach to their trade show branding campaigns can offer free rides to customers during peak times, such as arrivals and departures, as well as to and from special events held at the show. Customers can simply download the Pop-Up Rideshare app from the App Store or Google Play, or from sponsors’ mobile apps.

Pop-Up Rideshare has created a variety of customizable promotional packages that include free rideshare service and lead generation through app downloads, as well as vinyl car wraps with their logos and even video marketing.
The company will launch first in Las Vegas, where it currently has 500 drivers. It will focus on large business events and conventions that attract more than 150,000 attendees, such as the Consumer Electronics Show, where sponsors will be able to advertise directly to consumers, both inside and outside vehicles.
The founders of Pop-Up Rideshare are the people who started Ride Austin, a popular Texas-based nonprofit ridesharing company that shut down during the pandemic.

“Pop-Up Rideshare brings a completely new concept to the transportation industry, while providing corporate sponsors with the unique opportunity to enable hundreds of thousands of users to download their apps to redeem free rides,” said Dave Evans, CEO of Pop-Up Rideshare.
Once operational in Vegas, Evans plans to expand this company-sponsored ridesharing model to other markets in the future.
