LAS VEGAS – The video game industry is in great shape, as evidenced by the participation in the recent Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2022.
The 22nd annual American Gaming Association trade show, hosted by RX, drew 25,000 gaming professionals from around the world to The Venetian Expo over four days, nearly double the 2021 attendance of 13,000 and slightly less than the 2019 total of about 27,000. Exhibitor count also increased by 42%, with more than 350 exhibitors occupying 252,000 square feet.
“The U.S. commercial gaming market has seen record growth, with August 2022 marking the 18th consecutive month of positive year-over-year gaming revenue growth, while tribal gaming revenue results continue to be stronger than ever,” said Korbi Carrison, vice president of events at G2E, RX. At the heart of this year’s success, she said, was the fact that “the gaming industry is resilient and the community was eager to network in person, experience new technologies and products, and learn from their peers about the latest trends.”
Carrison said the most exciting new addition to G2E 2018 was the addition of the G2E Networking Lounge. “This space was created in response to attendee demand for more space to network and meet in the exhibit hall. This unique space included a custom hand-drawn photo activation, a dedicated meeting space, and happy hours presented in partnership with two special interest groups, African Americans in Gaming and the Innovation Group’s 40 Under 40 Awards Celebration.”

The training included six conferences and more than 80 training sessions spread across nine tracks, focusing on industry segments that have a strong trajectory, including sports betting, online gaming and financial technology.
G2E won the Grand Prize for “Most Extreme Social Media Results” at Trade Show Executive’s 2022 Gold 100 Awards & Summit last month. The numbers from its award-winning 2021 show were impressive, particularly the 2,450% year-over-year (YOY) increase in LinkedIn engagement. Twitter engagement also increased 1,605% year-over-year and Facebook engagement increased 390%.
G2E will return to The Venetian Expo from October 9-12, 2023.
